The Triple S Experience

Many may be wondering, what's the Triple S all about? Probably, you are also in doubt.

Triple S = Swine Sty Slumberparty = Monitors' Council Camp '05

Issin't it a unique name for a camp? Kudos to my Sec 3s EXCO for that !

This camp was indeed an exciting breakaway from stress (for Sec 4s). Wonderful activities for the monitors who turned up. Personally, I think that the camp is a success, as firstly, the turnout was pretty good (compared to only 10 monitors last yr haha). Also, monitors were very engaged in activities. Lastly, activities were interesting.

Was missing in action for the initiative games, water warfare and mental challenge. Had to be in Biology lessons. Heard that the Sec 3s managed to start off the camp pretty well.

Photohunt was another game, kudos to jarren for his hard work. Practically, he went to take pictures of certain parts of the school, and monitors are supposed to identify it. That was pretty hard i can assure you. Imagine a picture of a switch just with the serial number. Try looking every classroom for it.

Sports was rather swine. 15 monitors on each side (15*2= 30) playing soccer in the tennis court is indeed a bad idea. Having our poor Edwin stuck between the rugged boys as a referee.

It was finally evening time, the period which is most relaxing, and soothing for the mind, the best time for Monitorosutra. Basically, Monitorosutra is a session to teach monitors the real meaning of leaders. Kudos to george for carrying out the lesson effectively. So i hope that george, you know better how to be an assertive leader, and not to be an aggresive and passive leader. Also, monitors have the 'priviledge' of having me to share my experiences as a monitor for 4 yrs. Monitors also share their problems faced being a monitor, where we brainstorm ideas on how to tackle them. Wonderfully headed by Changyang, I think he has really proven himself capable of conducting a lecture.

Following which, we had A Night In New York. For those who are wondering what it is, i would suggest you go and find out. Perhaps read on to find out? Shall build up some suspense here.
During the event, the Sec 4s (judges) were indeed appalled by the 'Monkey Toots'. They acted this play which was really ... shocking. Never expected it from Sec 2 monitors. Their story line was about some slut(daniel) who bumped into this guy(xuan yi). Then ended up having s** with him. There was this scene where this guy (xuan yi) went to *toot* the 'woman'(daniel) , getting her pregnant. This scene was indeed hilarious, fancy daniel lying flat on the table, then xuanyi went up and really.. garr !

Then, this xuan yi went out to find another woman, then daniel, committed suicide...
garr... shall leave you to think of the rest.

The Sec 3s performed wonderfully for us, and Edwin also sang one of his favourites. Later, the judges (Sec 4s) were forced to perform. Decided to be sporting enough, Kenneth, Chengwei and I went backstage to practice an impromptu a cappella. Sorry if we sucked !

Night walk was indeed fun ! I had the priviledge of telling them all the wonderful haunted stories that was passed down from seniors. Didn't expect monitors to be so frightened, i didn't complete even half of my collection, and they were pleading for me to stop. Haha. So in order to reduce their fears, I told them "ok ok, our new building is very clean. All the stories happened in old VS. Nothing to worry about !"

Ended up lights out at 2 am. We the EXCO and the Sec 3s ended up staying awake almost the whole night. Ms Tang brought prata so we had supper at 3am. The 3 Sec 4s wanted to go out to the beach to watch sunrise and party, but were locked in in the school compound instead. So we practiced our a cappella right under the noses of the hostel, hoping to wake the security guard up. Indeed, the plan failed and we all went to sleep at 5am.

Enough of boring events, personally this camp wouldn't be a success w/o the hard work of the MC EXCO, not forgetting to mention especially Jarren. He has been working hard trying to finalise the proposal. George/Tajuddin were busy with their NCC camp, while the rest were also busy with CCA. Can't blame them i guess.

From here, monitors indeed should learn how to take instructions better. "Being a leader, you must first be a good follower", I hope monitors learn from what I have told them... Will be looking forward to next year's camp !
